Winter Concert Tickets

The OTHS Music Department is proud to present our annual winter concert


On Thursday, December 14th at 7:00 PM in the OTHS Theatre.  Tickets can be purchased on the school's cashless system or via cheque made out to Oakville Trafalgar High School for the cost of $10.  Please note that this concert has sold out the last four years so early purchase of tickets is reccomended.  Coffee, Tea and snacks will be served at intermission and tickets will be distributed the week of the concert.  All proceeds will go towards the Music Department to aid with instrument renewal.

Music Hoodies

The Music Council has designed Music Hoodies Music students to purchase this year and show their Music Department pride! 

The cost for each hoodie is $30 which includes your last name stitched on the right arm.

Sizing samples are in the Instrumental Music room for you to try on before purchase.

Please pay for your hoodie online using the school cashless site before December 8th to purchase yours.  When ordering please indicate which size you require.

Wind Ensemble Sectionals Starting Next Week

Wind Ensemble Sectionals begin next week. Sectionals are held on Wednesday mornings from 7:30AM-8:00AM before school.  Please be setup and ready to play for 7:30.  Below is a schedule of sectionals by instrument until December.

Oct. 18 - Flutes
Oct. 25 - Clarinets
Nov. 1 - Trumpets
Nov. 8 - French Horns
Nov. 15 - Trombones, Tubas, Double Bass, Bass Clarinet, Bari Sax
Nov. 22 - Alto Sax
Nov. 29 - Percussion

OTHS Music Department Retreat


The Music Retreat is scheduled for this coming Friday and Saturday (Oct. 13-14).  Please remember that it is mid October and we will be doing most of our activities outside, be sure to pack warm sweaters and a rain jacket. Luggage can be left in the Music room Friday morning. We will be meeting in front of the school at 3:00 after school on Friday.

Clothing
  • Rainwear (poncho, rain jacket, rain boots)
  • Active Wear, Outdoor Fall clothing (closed-toe shoes), slippers
Bedding
  • A WARM sleeping bag, pillow, blanket
Everything else


  • Medication (incl. puffer / epipens), tensor bandages (if needed)
  • Mini first aid kits (band aids, polysporin)
  • Toiletries
  • Nut-free snacks (in sealed bags)
  • Water bottle
  • Guitar for campfire

Music Retreat Registration

Tomorrow (Wednesday, Oct. 11) is the last day to bring in your registration forms and either a receipt from the cashless site or a cheque made out to Oakville Trafalagar High School to secure your spot for this weekend's retreat.

Trumpet Clinic, Wednesday, Oct 4 from 3:00 to 4:00

Attention trumpet players in Wind Ensemble and Sr. Jazz Ensemble.  There will be a trumpet clinic after school on Oct. 4 to help trumpet players develop better tone quality and range.  This will be the first of three clinics run by professional trumpet player Howard Leathers.  Future dates for the next two clinics will be announced shortly.

Music Activity Fee

This year if you are playing in a band or singing in a choir you must pay a $50 Music Activity Fee.  This fee will be used to cover some of the extracurricular operating expenses of the Music Department such as registration for competitions, guest conductors, band uniforms, transportation to events as well as bringing in specialist to work with students throughout the year.  You may pay this fee using the cashless site or by a cheque made out to Oakville Trafalgar High School.
